Christmas 2008

Santa visited our Credit Union on Saturday and we got a Jagodik family photo. Kaylee didn't want to sit an Santa lap this year. Lucy wasn't really interested either, but enjoyed their yummy snacks.
Lucy thinks she should get a raise for being the family dog especially if she is going to be in every picture!

Camping at Canyon Lake

We want camping last weekend with Kaylee. She was a great camper playing with acorns, sticks, and her dog, Lucy and she really liked her gloves. We all slept in the tent...Mom, Dad, Kaylee, and Lucy dog. Potter's Creek Park is one the the best campsite we have be to and we have revisited three times already. We didn't bring our jetski because it was to cold, but Canyon Lake has very blue clean (no duckweeds) water. We also meet some old friends there with their kiddo's.

Bay TB mare, 16 hands, beautiful mover, needs experienced rider

Hello, Mariah is a 20 year old TB mare who acts like a 6 year old. Vets and trainers are always surprised to hear she is 20. She gets a lot of compliments. She is energetic and has a vibrant personality. She has nice conformation, a beautiful head and eye, and is a very nice mover. I have owned her for about 8 years, but I now have a 18-month-old daughter and another one on the way, so I am having to give up riding for a little while. :( Mariah really excels with a kind, dedicated rider who can ride her consistently, several times a week (if not daily). I have competed with her, primarily in local eventing, jumping and a point-to-point cross-country race. She is a brave, tight jumper, but is sensitive under saddle and needs an experienced rider with nice hands and a light seat. And advanced-intermediate rider would learn a lot from her about lightening their seat/hands, collection, forwardness, etc. I don't jump her much at home - we mostly work on dressage. She loves to go on trails, as long as she can be the "leader". Fox-hunting was overstimulating for her. She is a good pasture-mate, and prefers to be with the geldings (and they LOVE her!). She loads nicely. She is good with clippers, except for her sensitive ears - but they can be clipped too when approached with patience. Right now, she is very out of shape (low muscle tone, etc). These pictures are all from when she was working regularly. With consistent work, she is a muscled, beautiful, and healthy horse. She has good feet, no injuries, has never been lame since I have owned her. I am asking $2000, but am very negotiable to the right rider/home. She is papered/tatooed by the Jockey Club. I am available to meet you to show her to you on the weekends. Please email me with interest/questions.

It's another GIRL!

Christy just called me this morning and the genetic test results are in. The kiddo's genes are fine...no extra stuff or missing ones. And....it's a girl.

I'm sure Christy will update this post.

If you have to ask....oh, we are done with two and we are more than happy with the news.

Kaylee is going to be a BIG sister!

We went to the doctor today to confirm what we suspected...Christy's 8 weeks, 4 days pregnant. We heard the heart beat at 167 and everything looks great. The due date is March 1st. We can't be more thrilled! Click on the picture for a bigger view.

KAYLEE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!

Kaylee Turned One year old today. She had fun singing and eating her cake! This was her first real "sugar experience", and "chocolate experience", and "icing experience". For her birthday, she got a swing for the backporch, a bike seat to ride along with her mama, some toys and books, and a donation to her college fund!

We tried to rotate the video, but blogger did not want to cooperate, so if you could just turn your head, that'd be swell. No comments about the choir, please.

Daddy, I Drive!!!

Kaylee had a great time driving around the ELM Cattle Company ranch. She saw her Aunt and great Aunt for the first time. Lucy also enjoyed being a ranch dog for the weekend.

Hail!!!

We got hit by one of the worst hail storms that I have been in. The hail was about dime to nickel sized. It damaged our roof, pitted our fence, down spouts, and window frames. I'm supprised that it didn't break one of our windows. You can see what it did to our cactus!

Christmas: Kaylee and Lucy

The Jagodik’s, 2007

It has been a very, very busy year in the Jagodik house. At the beginning of the year, we decided to do a “minor” remodel in our house, which turned into a “major” overhaul. Just as we were finishing cleaning up the dust, Christy gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Kaylee Jean Jagodik. Kaylee blessed our lives on May 19, and continues to amaze us every day.

Kaylee’s first big trip outside of Texas was to Tulsa to meet her great grandparents. We had a great weekend “oooo-ing and ahhhh-ing” about Kaylee.

In late July, we went to California, where Paul worked during the week, and Christy and Kaylee explored the coast. At the age of 2 months (and at the age of 30-something), Kaylee and Christy marveled at their first drive down Highway 1, through strawberry fields, beautiful cliffs, and Big Sur. Paul joined them on Friday to explore downtown San Francisco and the bay, and then over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sonoma and Napa Valleys to visit several wineries. While there, we got to see Wendell and Sherry and their precious Amalie. On the way back to San Francisco, Kaylee went on her first nice hike through Muir Woods and the beautiful redwoods.

Paul’s mom came to Austin to meet Kaylee and visit for a week in early August. She was so excited to spend time with her granddaughter! We had a great time.

In late August, we joined Christy’s parents in Utah for another week of fun. We stayed in Park City and went fly fishing and caught a bunch of fish, sat in the hot tub, and relaxed. We also spent a day in Salt Lake City and toured both a huge copper mine as well as Temple Square. We were able to watch the famous Tabernacle Choir rehearse – what a treat!

In October, Christy returned to work, and Kaylee started “school” at Primrose, near our home. The transition has gone well.

For Thanksgiving, we drove to Santa Fe for Christy’s family reunion. Kaylee had a lot of new people to meet! On the way home, we got stuck in a snow storm in Pecos, Texas. (We don’t recommend getting stuck in Pecos.)

For the holidays, we plan to stay in Austin to celebrate Kaylee’s first Christmas! Kaylee is almost 7 months old now, is sitting up, sleeping well, and eating solid foods. She babbles a lot, and is starting to show a real affinity for her puppy dog, Lucy. Kaylee is a very calm baby girl with a lot of smiles on her face!

We wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
